Interbank transfersWhen someone moves their account from one bank to another they are able to take advantage of the interbank transfer service to transfer their Direct Debits and Standing Orders from their old bank to their new bank.
The payer’s new bank advises the originator of the change to the Direct Debit Instruction.
(Section 17 of the originators guide and rules to the Direct Debit Scheme gives full details of the procedures involved. The process for Standing Orders is not covered in the guide.)
