Efficiency initiative

Local authorities FREE Bacs Efficiency Performance Report

To encourage efficient practices among Direct Debit originators, Bacs is offering local authorities a free health check for the Direct Debit schemes they run, specifically looking at ‘unpaids’ data. Launched in association with the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV), the initiative is designed to help local authorities improve the efficiency of automated payments and minimise the chances of Direct Debit collection failures. Put simply, as a local authority you can use the report findings to aid cash flow, reduce costs and improve customer relationships.

You can register for your Performance Report now and we’ll notify you when your personalised report is available. An updated report will be ready every six months, so you can monitor and evaluate the effects of any changes that you’ve implemented.

The report will contain an extract of your unpaids data, analysed and benchmarked not only against all other local authorities, but also local authorities of a similar size and demographic make up. Crucially, it will share best practice tips and advice and show areas where improvements and cost efficiencies can be made.

By helping you address levels of unpaid Direct Debits, you can reduce unnecessary costs and improve the customer experience so that take up rates are improved.
