How to pay direct

The following steps outline the process to start paying direct. It's easy. 

Contact your bank
They will advise on the most appropriate and cost effective method for your business, along with a step-by-step guide on how it works - they also need to authorise your use of the service.

Do some homework
Once the system is set up, you’ll need to research the sort code & account number of your payment recipients.

Use your bank or DIY
For smaller organisations, often the most cost effective way is to make payments via your bank or a bureaux. Larger organisations will probably benefit by doing it themselves, all you need is a PC, the appropriate modem and software which is available from your bank or approved software supplier.

Become a regular
Take the stress out of paying regular bills by using Direct Debit or standing orders. Identify the payments that absolutely have to be made on time (rent, utilities... etc.) and set up automated payments so you can focus on more important issues.
