Bacs is proud of its excellent track record and takes its business continuity very seriously. We regularly test the electronic funds transfer service we provide to the payments industry to safeguard all of our payment services.

Managed by our infrastructure supplier, VocaLink, the Bacs business continuity processes include comprehensive and thoroughly tested monitors and controls to ensure Bacs manages and reduce the impact of any risks that might pose a threat to the smooth running of its service. Regularly tested back-up systems are also in place which provide added security in the event that we are unable to operate from our primary processing centre.

Bacs and VocaLink have an established team enabling Bacs to react swiftly in an emergency and to ensure business continuity. The team is responsible for co-ordinating activities in the event that there is a risk to its operations and also protects staff and visitors, advises customers of any impacts and co-ordinates support from external agencies.

We remain committed to the provision of a secure, reliable and cost effective funds transfer service. A comprehensive programme is in place to ensure that any disruption to the live service is given the highest priority.
