Direct Debit Challenge League

A new challenge for local authorities

Bacs launches a new challenge for local authorities this year. The Direct Debit Challenge League replaces the long running Direct Debit Challenge, which has recognised the effort and commitment of councils to Direct Debit payment for over twelve years.

The new Challenge League takes an online format to enable every council to take part easily. Found at www.directdebitchallenge.co.uk, it draws on the heritage of sporting fantasy leagues, by creating an exciting "reality" league in which local authorities compete with their peers on their ability to deliver a high standard Direct Debit service and to actively drive signup.

This competition runs through the financial year - from 5 April 2008 until 4 April 2009. There are no forms to complete. All that is required, is for individual local authorities to visit www.directdebitchallenge.co.uk, select "new user" and enter their relevant contact details. A password will then be created and they can log in regularly and monitor their progress. Scores and league positions will only be published for those authorities who are registered by logging in.

Additional logins for each authority can be obtained by emailing servicedesk@bacsservices.co.uk.

There are eight prizes of £1,000 charity donations to be won and, while there will be a chance to win extra points for your team by sharing your marketing initiatives with Bacs, if time pressures prevent you from logging on, or submitting materials, you can still compete.
