Anne Pieckielon

Senior Manager for Schemes

Anne Pieckielon is Senior Manager for Schemes at Bacs, the industry body behind the UK’s leading automated payment products – Direct Debit and Bacs Direct Credit. 

She has been at Bacs since April 2005 and is currently responsible for maintaining the quality and integrity of Bacs products. As part of this process, Anne helps to ensure the smooth running of all associated payment-related services at Bacs, co-ordinating resources of the existing payment scheme and facilitating changes and developments in overall strategy. She has also played a fundamental role in the successful delivery of internal projects and the organisation’s technology renewal programme.

Before joining Bacs, Anne worked for the Co-operative Bank and established the bank’s first Small Business centre. Anne was also involved in developing a range of products and managing a number of projects building relationships with a number of large corporate bodies and major stakeholders, such as industry associations, political parties and national charities.

Anne is an expert on the UK’s financial market and maintains a high level of awareness when it comes to external environmental forces that could influence and inform decisions relating to the sub-schemes of Bacs and the wider payments industry. This includes political and regulatory changes plus economic and technological developments.
