Bacs Family Finance Tracker

The Bacs Family Finance Tracker is an invaluable source of robust data providing a fascinating insight into the habits of the GB population when it comes to money.  Having been run for over 20 years the Bacs research also provides a wealth of comparative data.

What does the Bacs Family Finance Tracker cover?

The Bacs research provides a consumer based measure of attitudes and behaviour relevant to family finances including:

  • Spending and saving
  • Account switching
  • Use of current / savings / other bank accounts
  • Household / personal bill payments
  • Internet access and frequency of use
  • Online purchasing
  • Home ownership
  • Employment
  • Popularity/use of payment methods (e.g. Direct Debit, cheques, credit cards, cash etc)

The research is conducted throughout the year on our behalf by Ipsos-MORI, and is representative of the GB population, with results available on an ongoing basis.

Below are some examples of previous research reports and press releases. The areas covered in these reports are not definitive, but simply give a flavour of the information we have available.

If you are seeking specific statistics for an article or feature, please contact our press office team who will be happy to help with any bespoke enquiries from the media.
