Bacs celebrates late payment campaign win at B2B Marketing Awards

Bacs Payment Schemes Limited (Bacs), the UK’s leading authority on automated payments, has scooped the coveted top prize in the Best Use of PR category at the B2B Marketing Awards 2010. The prize was awarded to Bacs for the high profile campaign to raise awareness of the late payments issue and its impact on British SMEs.

The core objectives of Bacs’ late payments campaign were to drive awareness of the benefits of automated payments, open doors for dialogue between Bacs and high profile industry partners, strengthen Bacs’ position as champion and advocate for SMEs, and position it as an authoritative voice within the UK business community.

The campaign provides advice for SMEs through Bacs’ dedicated online resource, www.paymedirect.co.uk; working partnerships were forged with influential industry groups, including the Institute of Credit Management, and Bacs is now a driving force behind its Prompt Payment Code.

Mike Hutchinson, head of marketing at Bacs, said: “The campaign has been highly successful, generating a substantial volume of positive media coverage. Our work with industry bodies has further enhanced the underlying strength of our campaign.”
