Bacs wins a spot in UK’s Best Workplaces™ roll call

4.5.2017

Bacs Payment Schemes Limited (Bacs) - the organisation behind Direct Debit in the UK - was named one of the UK’s best workplaces, at a prestigious awards ceremony held last night (3 May).

The company made the final shortlist in the category for organisations with 20-49 employees, awarded by Great Place to Work® as part of the annual Best Workplaces™ rankings – this is the first time Bacs has achieved this honour, having first entered last year.

The methodology behind the ranking is one of the most rigorous available and uniquely comprises both an employee survey and an audit into an organisation’s management and HR practices. The award recognises the strength of Bacs’ leadership and the range of innovative, creative and effective HR policies which have created a successful workplace culture.

Bacs CEO, Michael Chambers, said: “This represents a real team effort by everyone in Bacs to create a workplace in which all of our colleagues can flourish. As CEO, I’m immensely proud of the team we have which, day in, day out, goes the extra mile to deliver a first-class service with the utmost professionalism.”

Tom O’Byrne, Great Place to Work® CEO said: ‘We are delighted to see Bacs on our Best Workplaces™ list this year. It is a validation of the strength of their leadership and their commitment to creating the kind of culture which attracts and retains the best talent and where people have pride in what they do and want to do their best.

“The hallmark of a great workplace like Bacs is that their policies and practices are designed around the employee; this employee focus helps attract and retain the talent essential for driving and sustaining competitive performance.“
