Accessing the PSW after 31 January 2026

From 31 January 2026, the Payment Services Website (PSW) will no longer be accessible via Internet Explorer. To continue using the PSW, you will need to ensure you are fully up to date with a compatible web browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Users can log in to the PSW using:
- A Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) smart card and card reader, or
- A username and password (Alternative Security Method, ASM).

Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

PKI users who are currently using Internet Explorer must migrate to a more modern web browser, such as Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. They must also download the Websigner signing software package, which replaces eSigner. To do this, users need to:

  • Ensure they have installed the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
o All versions of Internet Explorer, including Internet Explorer compatibility mode in Microsoft Edge, will no longer work after 31 January 2026.
  • Download the Websigner signing software package from their payment service provider (PSP).
  • If they have an old (transparent) card reader, to use a pin pad reader which will be provided by your PSP if you don’t have one.
  • Users may also need to update their password if it is currently alpha numeric (i.e. includes letters and numbers).

If users have already received a new card reader from their PSP, they must start using this immediately with Websigner and supported web browser.

Users who already use a Websigner package to access the PSW have nothing more to do.

Alternative Security Method (ASM)

ASM users will need to use the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to ensure continued access to the PSW after 31 January 2026.

All versions of Internet Explorer, including Internet Explorer compatibility mode in Edge, will no longer work after 31 January 2026.

Once a compatible browser is installed, users can continue to use their existing ASM log in credentials.
ASM users who are already using the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox have nothing more to do.
