Please read these terms and conditions and our privacy statement carefully before using https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk portal.

Use of the https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk portal is subject to these terms and conditions and our privacy statement. Using https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk means that you accept these terms and conditions. 

Whilst we will make every effort to keep changes to a minimum, we may make amendments to the terms and conditions at any time. By continuing to use https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk subsequent to any changes, you agree to accept any changes made to the terms and conditions.
Wherever possible we will endeavour to alert users to changes by email.

Ownership and copyright

https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk is owned by Bacs all rights reserved. Bacs acknowledges that any information and materials you upload onto the portal is your property. By uploading such information and materials you grant Bacs a royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the information and materials for the purposes of accreditation and inspection.

Use of the portal

You are granted a limited personal non-exclusive licence and may only use the https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk for use within your business organisation for the purpose of your organisation achieving accreditation by Bacs and in relation to future inspections to maintain that accreditation. Your licence enables you to upload information and materials onto the portal which are then locked and cannot be amended or deleted. Your information and materials are securely segregated from any other user’s information and materials. 

Registration

In order to use https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk, you need to be registered by Bacs. Your organisation will have nominated you as their point of contact. You must not transfer or re-assign your registration to any other person. 

Password and security

Once registered with the system, you will receive an email containing your username and temporary password. You will be prompted to change your temporary password immediately on login. You should keep this information confidential and should not pass it on to any other person. Once you are logged in with this password you are entirely responsible for all activities that occur under that account and you agree to be responsible for any expense, loss or damage incurred by Bacs, its employees, suppliers, agents and licensors as a result of any misuse of your account. You agree to fully indemnify Bacs in relation to any such expense, loss or damage. You also agree to inform Bacs in writing of any unauthorised use of your account or other breach of security which is known to you.

Bacs limitation of liability

Bacs will not be liable to you for any amount in excess of any monies paid by you to Bacs.

Third party links

Bacs may choose from time to time to have various third party websites linked from the portal and the questionnaires. These third party links are provided for your convenience only and are accessed at your own risk. You agree Bacs has no responsibility or liability for any independent policies or actions of these third party sites and is not responsible in any way for the privacy practices, customer service practices content or availability of any such websites. You also agree that Bacs shall not be responsible in any way for any damage or loss caused in relation to the content, goods or services available through such websites.

Termination

Your right to use the https://bureaux.bacs.co.uk portal will be suspended or terminated immediately without notice by Bacs if (i) your employment with your organisation ends, (ii) your organisation’s accreditation is suspended or withdrawn, (iii) in Bacs' sole discretion, you fail to comply with any term or provision of the terms, or (iv) a competent regulatory authority requires Bacs or any of its suppliers to do so. Upon termination you agree that Bacs may immediately deactivate your account.

Availability

Bacs endeavours to ensure that the portal is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. There will be occasions when the portal will be interrupted for maintenance, upgrades and emergency repairs and you agree that Bacs shall not be liable to you, or any third party, for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of the portal. Every step will be taken by Bacs to minimise disruption.

However, Bacs cannot be held responsible for any disruptions that are inherent in the operation of the Internet and World Wide Web including viruses.

Miscellaneous

These terms and conditions contain the full and complete understanding between the parties. They supersede prior arrangements and understandings whether written or oral appertaining to the subject matter of the terms. Bacs reserves the right to amend and / or vary the terms from time to time in its entire discretion.

The terms and all representations, obligations, undertakings and warranties contained in it, shall be for the benefit of any successors and assignees of Bacs. The terms and any contracts made under them shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England whose courts shall be the exclusive courts of competent jurisdiction.
